Maxim-Gorki-Theater

The Maxim Gorki Theatre is the smallest and most beautiful of Berlin’s municipal theatres, located in the former Singakademie (“Choral Academy”) on the central avenue Unter den Linden. Under the artistic direction of Shermin Langhoff, the Gorki presents an artistic program reflecting the complex and diversified society in these times of continuous economic and political crises and heightened social and cultural conflicts. Its mission is, as a publicly funded city theater, to engage with the city of Berlin — with everything and everyone that this city is sheltering and to aesthetically deconstruct the rhetoric of identity and integration.
